Week One
Hi everyone and welcome to the first journal entry for this fantastic exhibition that we as a university are hosting which will be shown at the North West Media Centre located at the front of The University of Chester, Warrington Campus on the evening of the 31st May 2018. Time will be confirmed at a later date.

But enough about that for now, we guess you all want to know what has been going on here. Well, we will tell you right now. Preparations for ‘The Greatest Showcase’ have begun and we are here to tell you everything about it all. So, go grab yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee and sit back while we explain what has been going on this week.
This week has been the first week for all the students working on this to work within their mini groups to create the final event. There are five different groups that are helping bring this event to life so let’s introduce them to you.
There are:
* Media Valedictory Show: Photography and Blog – Abbey Coleman and Lucy Tranter
* Media Valedictory Show: Promotion and Advertising – Aimee Parmar, Grace Litherland, Kennedy Oldham and Trey Watts
* Media Valedictory Show: Radio and CAT Website – Max Rushton, Yasmin Denman and Lauren Martin
* Media Valedictory Show: Live Streaming TV Show – Alexandra McClennon, Josh Lee, Markus Saetran and Robbie Brown-Williams
* Media Valedictory Show: NWMC Exhibition – Daniel Wardle, Georgia Litton, Oscar Wilde and Robbie Evans

We have all been working as hard as we possibly can to make sure everything is perfect for the night.
The Photography and Blog group have been working hard by creating and editing the blog website as well as writing some of the content and taking as well as editing photographs to be posted on the website to bring it all together. Any photographs or content that has been used on the blog website have approved and are within the standards of the client.
The Promotion and Advertising group have also been busy with creating the posters to promote the event. They have created several mock posters this week in which was then decided as a group which one was to be used to capture the audience’s eye but also making sure that they keep within the theme that was approved by the client. They have also been working on making the logos alongside the front page of the brochure.

The Radio and CAT Website team have also been on top of their preparations for the final event. They have been working on making the jingles for the future shows which have been planned and confirmed by the university radio show; The CAT Radio. They have also planned and arranged interviews with students and staff members of the university. They interviewed a lecturer of the university, Jim Mason, about the “Trombone – Hard Time” remixes as well as a student and member of the Promotion and Advertising group, Aimee Parmar, about the progress of their group. They have also been and got the theme of their audio confirmed and approved by the client.
The Live Streaming TV Show have been busy interviewing radio, TV and advertising students for the VTs which will most likely be used for the final production. They have also been contacting other students to be part of the live show or the VTs as well as following all the other groups around, capturing their preparation through video for the opening sequence in which they have nearly finished editing.
Finally, the NWMC Exhibition team have been working hard on preparing the exhibition spaces. They have done this by taking down any existing artwork from last year’s showcase and then splitting the space into sections to make them into separate rooms to showcase the different subjects. They have also been measuring the walls in the North West Media Centre to work out the different possibilities for the layout of the artwork and the other furniture.

So, there we have it. The preparations for ‘The Greatest Showcase’ have begun and if you want to find out what we are doing as the weeks go on then tune into the journal entries every week for updates.
Also, if you have some free time and don’t know what to do with it, take a couple of minutes to do the following:
* Go and like our Facebook page and share it out to your friends and family
* Go and follow our Twitter and Instagram pages and share them yet again with your friends and family
If you don’t have any of these or can’t get onto any of them for some reason, then go and tune into The CAT Radio between 12pm-1pm every Wednesday to find out more information.
Tickets for the event will be released at a later date but don’t worry, the event is completely free and is open for anyone to attend. So, when the tickets are released, don’t waste time to order yourself one as they will go quick and you don’t want to miss the greatest showcase you will ever see.

Make sure you all keep in tune with the journal entries to see what we get up to week by week and how the preparations for the final event are coming along. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for ticket releases because once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Until next week, we bid you all farewell and hope that you all have an amazing week.
