WEEk FIVE
Hi and welcome back to this week’s journal entry. This week has been a busy week for us all as we come down to the last three remaining days before the final event. How crazy is that? To think that five weeks ago, we as a team were only thinking about what theme to use or what to call the final event for you guys.

Now, were down to the last couple of days and the final preparations are now coming together nicely and were all so excited to show what we have created for you. So, if you haven’t already, go and purchase your ticket(s) as it will be one showcase that you do not want to miss. Tickets are free of charge so come and help us celebrate student’s work with a fun night of live streams, radio shows and exhibitions.

But enough of that right now, let’s get you into the gossip of what’s been happening over the last couple of days with preparations to the main final event.
The Photography and Blog group have been busy this week with taking and editing photos, capturing the day to day process for the final countdown to the event happening on Thursday night at 7pm. They have also been working on making the website for the blog exceptional for everyone to view, keeping within the ‘1920s Art Deco’ theme that the whole project group came up with. They have also been looking over and editing certain parts of the old content as well as writing the new content up. When asked what her favourite part of doing the project was, Lucy Tranter quoted, “This overall experience has been amazing. I have learnt so much whilst going this project that will help in the future. I have also come to know and make new friends along the way and if I got the chance to do this again, I would”.

The Promotion and Advertising group have also been busy this week with finalising and finishing the brochure and the map of the exhibition, which both will be printed by Wednesday ready for the event on Thursday night. They have also been updating the website as well as helping with the TV live streaming rehearsals as they will be helping them out on the night. They have also sent out all the invitations to the internal guests i.e. Chancellors and Vice Chancellors. When asked what his views were whilst working on the project, Aimée Parmar replied with, “I have had an interesting experience and have loved coming in everyday being able to do what I enjoy. Being able to be part of a team and put on our very own media showcase is something that I am proud to say I have done”.
The Radio and CAT Website team have been on top with their preparations for the final event. They have produced two radio shows where they have been practicing using the outside broadcasting kit, which will be the equipment used on Thursday night when they go live at 6pm-8pm for the event. During the two shows, they have been making plans for the final broadcast for the final event. They will also have to telescope each of their shows after they have aired, ready to go on the CAT Radio website with the rest of their shows throughout the project. When asked about his experiences within the module, Max Rushton said, “I have found the project to be an interesting experience. Providing a mixture of things, I am experienced with, and challenging myself in new parts of media”.

The Live Streaming TV Show have also been quite busy this week. They have been making last minute changes to the schedule. They have been rehearsing the live stream show constantly this week with both the presenters, the live music act and all the VTs that will be involved on the night. They have also been busy preparing and working on interview questions to ask the guests on the night of the event. When asked what her favourite part of doing the project was, Alexandra McClennon replied, “I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I’ve met lots of new people and really like seeing what they are doing in their projects as well as my own. It’s a great insight into all of the courses within the media department”.
The Exhibition team have been very busy this week. This week, they have printed off all the signs ready to put up on the event night so the guests can find their way around. They have also made sure that all the mac computers are fine and ready to put some of the pieces of work on as well as making some last-minute touches to the artwork before hanging them on the railings. They have also ordered all the catering for the exhibition so the guests have something to eat and drink on the night. When asked about his views on his team and the module, Oscar Clarke said, “The exhibition team have been a pleasure to work with, a very easy-going bunch of people.”

So, I guess that’s it. The preparations are coming to an end and all the hard work put into this project will be all worth it when we see it live in action on Thursday 31stMay 2018 at 7pm at the North West Media Centre located on the University of Chester, Warrington Campus. Please help us enjoy a night of celebrating student’s work by purchasing a ticket online, which are free of charge. I promise, you won’t be disappointed with the outcome.
