WEEK FOUR

Hi and welcome back to another week of hard work and determination to make sure what we deliver to you on the final event is perfect. The event will take place on the 31st May 2018 at 7pm, located at the North West Media Centre which is situated at the front entrance of the university campus. Students working on the project will be scattered around on the night to help point you in the right direction and to ensure your visit is a great one.

So, enough of that for a moment. Let’s get straight to the point that we are all here today on this journal entry.

The Photography and Blog have been researching into other online blogging websites to get more insight into what the content is supposed to look and sound like. They have also been writing up more content for the blog as well as being able to capture everything in the process. They have been taking pictures of the TV rehearsals, the Exhibition team and the Radio team. They edited them all before publishing them online. When asked what her views were whilst working on the project, Abbey Coleman replied, “My overall experience of this project has gone really well, I’ve enjoyed being given the role of the photographer which has allowed me to test my knowledge and skills of photography and digital media.”

Next up is the Promotion and Advertising group. They have been busy finalising the animated invitation that will be sent out via email to all the guests. They have also been making alterations to the posters that were suggested by the client, which were then printed and put up around the university to let everyone know about the event. They have also been creating the brochure with hope that it will be completed by the end of week four/beginning of week five. They have also been busy with finalising the map by adding the first-floor layout which will be given to the guests on the night. They have also been able to keep up the maintaining of The Greatest Showcase website, which is now up and live for everyone to see as well as helping the TV group with rehearsals of the live stream. When asked about her experiences within the module, Grace Litherland said, “It has been a great experience being part of the Advertising and Promotion team, learning the scope of new technologies such as, editing software’s and the basics of advertising in terms of poster production. The amount of effort we have put into this will definitely show.”

The Radio and CAT Website team have been working on who will be running the desk for the outside broadcast as well as finalising the press release which is now on the CAT website news page. They have also been researching and preparing links and features for next week’s busy show schedules with a total of four hours being on air. They have also been conducting follow up interviews with all the different groups featured within the project. When asked about her experiences within the module, Yasmin Denman quoted, “The whole experience has been very interesting watching how everyone adapted to their roles so quickly. I got the chance to present the Radio with someone I hadn’t previously, and I enjoyed the new experience. I have managed to develop my skills and confidence in outside broadcasting which will help me in my final year at university.”

The Live Streaming TV Show have been busy this week with editing interviews as well as doing a three hour walk through to get it all ready for the night. They have also had meetings with both the client and lecturers about work as well as drafting out scripts. All the VTs were transferred over to the producer during this week and have also been preparing questions for next week. They have also created the credit’s page and completed another rehearsal with all the VTs, presenters and music act involved. When asked what his views were whilst working on the project, Robbie Brown-Williams replied with, “I feel this has been a great experience whilst working together with great people, doing this has made me learn so much more about the TV industry and live television shows but has also made me look and learn more about the other aspects of media like Radio, Advertising and more.”

The Exhibition team have been very busy this week. The team have been working on printing, cutting and mounting all the artwork that will be shown in exhibition. Also, they have been placing them on the railings ready for the night of the event. Lastly, they have also been editing all the video content for the exhibition. When asked about her experiences within the module, Georgia Litton commented, “I’ve found the module to be quite interesting, as it’s given me a different perspective on filmmaking. I’ve learned lots of new skills which I can now take forward to an employer when I finish University and it has also given me an outlook on how I would create content for a client which coincides with their specification.”
